WIC (Women, Infants and Children)
WIC promotes healthy mothers, infants and children by providing nutrition education and supplemental food coupons to income eligible families.
MATERNAL INFANT HEALTH PROGRAM
PREGNANT WOMEN: The goal of this program is to provide non-medical support services to pregnant women. A nurse provides information regarding pregnancy, preparation for the baby, infant care and feedings and other community resources. Visits with a nutrutionist and a social worker are also available. This program also provides mileage reimbursement to and from doctor's visits and childbirth education classes.
INFANTS: The goal of this program is to provide non-medical support to families with babies and young chidren who have Medicaid. A nurse works with the family to help coordinate community services and provide information on infant care, feeding, development, illnesses and parent. A visit with a nutritionist or social worker, parenting education clasess, and transportation assistance are also available.
INFANT SUPPORT SERVICES
Provides non-medical support to families with children under three years of age who have Medicaid. A Health Department nurse works with the family to provide information on infant care, feeding, development, illness and parenting. Visits are usually provided in the family’s home.
Immunizations are offered by appointment. The recommended immunization schedule for children as well as clinic locations, are available. Parent of legal guardian must accompany child(ren) to the clinic. Fees may apply (Medicaid and Medicare Part B accepted - no fee for WIC clients).
BREAST AND CERVICAL CANCER SCREENING
Women’s health screening for Breast and Cervical Cancer offered to women over 40 years old. The program pays for the screening services of clinical breast exam, mammogram, pelvic exam, Pap test, and diagnostic testing.
WOMEN'S REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH SERVICES
Provides confidential contraceptive clinic services and community education programs. This program is designed for all women in Mancelona. Services offered include physical examinations by a Nurse Practitioner, pregnancy testing and prescribing/dispensing methods of contraception.
Available for women between the ages of 19 through 44 years to assist with family planning related services including office visits, prescriptions for birth control, contraceptive supplies and devices, lab tests and the treatment of sexually transmitted infections.
HEALTHY KIDS AND MICHILD APPLICATION ASSISTANCE
Free or low cost health insurance is available to families who do not have insurance. These policies include health, dental and vision insurance and more.
NORTHERN HEALTH PLAN
A community partnership to help uninsured people gain access to medically necessary care.
NORTHERN HEALTH PLAN PRESCRIPTION
A service offered through the Northern Health Plan to help uninsured people gain access to medically necessary prescriptions. Prescription medication 50% copay for medications on approved drug list.
Dental Clinics North

The dental clinic offers oral exams, cleaning, fluoride treatment, fillings, education and other “as needed” dental procedures to children and adults who have Medicaid, Health Kids, Healthy Kids Dental and MI Child.
NORTHERN DENTAL PLAN
Northern Dental Plan offers dental services at a reduced fee for people without dental insurance. Membership in the Northern Dental Plan is $50.00 per person and includes an initial visit with a participating dentist that includes an exam, x-rays, and treatment plan.
